Our Philosophy of Counseling
At Calvary Mt Si we practice Biblical Counseling. This method of counseling differs from Christian and Secular Counseling in the way that it does not adopt the world's understanding of man, but it looks to the full counsel of God for all of our answers. The methods and strategies of our counseling ministry are all based on the Bible, its categories, and how the truths in God's Word apply to the problems of humankind. The purpose of this ministry is to bring healing to the Christian as well as the non-Christian community by means of properly interpreted and applied Biblical truth. The goal is life transformation, not simply behavioral modification. We are currently being equipped and trained through Truth In Love Biblical Counseling Center. We believe that God is not only willing to heal people by His Spirit and In His truth, but that He wants to heal the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. We also believe that only God and His Word can bring this healing to people's lives.
As biblical counselors and disciplers, we take Colossians 1:28 seriously, presenting Christ without shame, lovingly confronting sin, and teaching Biblical principles in order to produce maturity in the life of those who come to us, always seeking to provide comfort for the wounded as well.
We also hold to the reality that Scripture, according to 2 Peter 1:3, is fully sufficient in all matters of the human experience, all matters of life and faith.
We are committed to giving you the best soul care possible. The counseling we offer at Calvary Mt Si is always free of charge to all in our area. If your needs go outside of our realm of experience and training, we will refer you out into our network of trained biblical counselors affiliated with TILBCC.
